The Community Building in Britain core group is carrying out a 5th year review of the facilitating ourselves format. If you have attended one of these events, we would like you to help. Find out how  you can feedback about your experience of facilitating ourselves here.

This is a web site about building community. Ideas about the creation of true community were outlined in the book The Different Drum by M. Scott Peck published in 1987. This led to the growth of groups, events and workshops dedicated to community building.

Peck describes the joy felt in experiencing true community: “It is like falling in love. When they enter community, people in a very real sense do fall in love with one another en masse”.

Community building events are held in many countries; community building in the UK has its own loose organisation made up of individuals who have experienced the benefits of moving into community and want to share it with others. More information about Community Building in Britain (CBiB) is available here.

Community builders in the UK have piloted a new form of 6-day community building event known as facilitating ourselves. Five such events have been held, have proved popular and achieved powerful results
